WHAT IS A NECK LIFT?

Is a surgical procedure that lessens the visual signs of aging on the neck and jawline area. Particularly the following:

  • excess fat and sagging skin in the lower face (jowls)
  • chin fatty deposits
  • loose skin in the neck area and
  • unusual muscle banding In the neck area.

Youthful contours that has gone out from theneck are caused by many different factors, due to any of the following: heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, lifestyle, habits, and stress.

Sometimes the condition of the face and neck would not match. The face is wrinkled but the lower part in the neck area is creased. When both areas do not match, a neck lift is recommended to improve signs of creases on the neck a.k.a. “turtle wattle”.

Other rejuvenation procedures to complement neck lift are the brow lift to improve the sagging creased brows. Fat transfer to add fullness on to the lips and cheeks to lessen the creases for a more youthful appearance. In addition, eyelid surgery or blephoplasty may also be done to improve the appearance of youthful eye area.

What a necklift can’t give?

Necklift is just a restorative surgery; a necklift does not change your basic appearance and can never cease aging process.

A necklift is a surgical procedure, however; there are other non-surgical rejuvenation treatments that cannot achieve the same outcome. However, these treatments may help delay the need for a necklift procedure.

Who can have a necklift?

The best candidates are:

  • Healthy people who do not have complications of healing easily. (Diabetic patients for example have issues with healing easily)
  • Non-smokers (must at least quit for a minimum of two weeks before procedure)
  • People who have positive outlook in life and expectations.
